 Complete vaporization of fuel is far from perfect in today's engines. An amount of residual fuel in most engines remains liquid and unused in the engine chamber. In order to be fully combusted, the fuel must be fully vaporized.
Surface tension of fuel limits complete vaporization. Surface tension in a liquid is the ability of the molecules to attract each other and hold together. Surface tension is what creates water on a waxed car to hold together and bubble into droplets.
Surface tension of water also allows some insects to be able to "walk on water." However, once you add a drop of dish soap, the insect falls right through and into the water.
Vitra works on fuel exactly how soap works on water. It drastically reduces the surface tension. This means that when your injectors spray fuel, the micro-droplets of fuel are much, much smaller - and the fuel combusts far more completely.
